What is Mediation?

Divorce mediation is a process where a neutral mediator assists couples in negotiating resolutions on issues like asset division, child custody, and support arrangements, aiming for mutual satisfaction.

How does Mediation Conclude?

A settlement agreement is drafted, reviewed, and, if agreed upon, signed by both parties. It can then be submitted for court approval.

What is Med-Arb?

At 29 Eleven, we call this

"Resolve or Decide".

An increasingly popular, effective, economical, dispute resolution process. Initially, parties attempt to reach a voluntary agreement through Mediation. If all or some of the issues have not been resolved in Mediation, the parties then move into Arbitration. The mediator then becomes an arbitrator and makes the final decision on outstanding unresolved issues, after receiving the appropriate evidence from the parties.

Is Mediation Legally Binding?

Agreements from mediation become legally binding once incorporated into a formal settlement document and approved by a court. The mediation process itself is not legally binding.

What if We don't reach an Agreement?

If no agreement is reached, consider additional mediation sessions, other dispute resolution forms, such as Arbitration, or carrying throught with court. The mediator can advise on the next steps.

Already in Court? Still Mediate?

Mediation can occur at any stage – even if your case is already in court. Many choose mediation as a first step, while others do so as result of their dissatisfaction and unaffordability with litigation process.

Mediation vs Court?

Mediation is less formal, confrontational, and expensive than court proceedings. It focuses on collaboration and mutual agreements, unlike court decisions made by a judge.
